Fans and family to gather in honor of living legend, Henry Nava, who now at age 90, has dedicated his life to sharing more than 80 years of music! That’s eight decades of performing live music!

It’s happening in Ventura, California at The Grape, 2733 East Main Street, March 10, 7-10 pm – This is going to be an extravaganza, no doubt – the kind of historical event you’ll want to experience firsthand rather than have to hear about it after the fact. On March 10 at around 7:10, after brief intr oductions, Mr. Henry Nava, Saxophonist Extraordinaire, takes to the stage of The Grape, 2733 East Main Street, Ventura, California to grace his audience, as he has for more than eight decades since his early beginnings as a young boy.

Nava’s longtime friend (like family), John Grimaldo, conceptualizing the event, explains why it so important to pay such honor, saying “It’s a matter of love and respect for all the music Henry’s given the world…”

Grimaldo’s eight piece band, House Arrest, will back Mr. Nava on instrumentals and then on vocal tunes performed by Freda Ramey and Guest Artist, Colene Riffo, through set one of the three set show. From there, of course, if Nava wants to play more, the stage is his to enjoy.

Vocalists appearing are the always fiery and sassy, Freda Ramey, lead singer of House Arrest and Colene Riffo of Co & Company known for her sultry, story-telling style.  Together with Nava and House Arrest, they are set to perform a mix of styles and genres’. The audience can expect jazzy, funky, danceable, familiar and fun!

Other amenities: While show time is 7:00 to 10:00 pm, if folks want to get in early, there’s happy hour in the adjoining bar area where the Tom Etchart Jazz Trio performs 4 to 7 pm. Additionally, the 805Live Event Team has arranged for a food truck to be available 6 – 9 pm or if patrons want, Yolanda’s Restaurant is conveniently right next door to The Grape.
